Chasing the Sun
In “Chasing the Sun” by Tracie Peterson, we meet Hannah Dandridge and William Barnett. Hannah’s father moved their family to Texas during the Civil War in hopes of a better future. He was given a ranch because of his support for the southern cause. When Hannah’s father goes missing she is left in charge of running the ranch and also taking care of her younger siblings. Then William Barnett comes into the picture. William was hurt during the war and has returned to his family’s ranch to recover and to take over what his father started. But he soon discovers that Hannah believes the ranch is hers. Hannah also has to deal with the unwanted attention from Herbert Lockhart. Lockhart was her father’s business partner and he wants Hannah and all that she would inherit from her father, so much so that he has her father killed. Hannah and William are strongly attracted to one another and Lockhart will do anything to come between them. Will Lockhart get away with murder? Will Hannah and William finally realize they are meant to be together?
“Chasing the Sun” is the first book in the Land of the Lone Star trilogy. Tracie Peterson never misses with her books and this is another great one. She always tells a great story with an even greater message to the reader. I highly recommend this book and any other Tracie Peterson book. I can’t wait for book two. I received a complimentary copy of this book to review from Bethany House.
