Wishing on Willows

In “Wishing on Willows” by Katie Ganshert, we are once again taken to the town of Peaks, Iowa. Robin is a young, widowed mother trying to keep her café running. The Willow Tree Café was the dream of her and her husband’s. When her husband was suddenly taken from her, her dream and son were the only things that kept her going. Now there is somebody trying to take that dream away. With a big business coming near Peaks the town has decided it needs something to draw people to the small town. Ian McKay plans to build condos in the town. The only problem is the spot he wants to build is Robin’s café. The two are stubborn and both refuse to give up. There also seems to be spark between the two. Robin refuses to love any man after losing her husband because she does not want to go through the heartbreak again. Ian’s marriage ended badly and he is still dealing with the grief. What will happen in the small town of Peaks? Will God give Robin and Ian a second chance at love together?

When we first met Robin in “Wildflowers from Winter” she was faced with losing her husband and learning that she was pregnant. This book continues her story and also brings back the familiar faces from the first book. You will cheer for Robin and grieve with her and Ian and their stories unfold. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. Click here to read the first chapter.
