Firefly Island

In “Firefly Island” by Lisa Wingate we meet Mallory Hale. Mallory lives in Washington D.C. and works on Capitol Hill. When she meets Daniel Everson her life gets turned upside down. She and Daniel have a whirlwind romance and fall hopelessly in love with each other. When Daniel is offered a job in Texas doing what he has always wanted Mallory has a tough choice to make. Within a month’s time she finds herself married to Daniel, a mother to his son and uprooting her life to move Moses Lake, Texas. Life in Texas is not what this city girl thought it would be. Daniel works long days so Mallory must find a way to occupy her time. She soon starts meeting the locals and making friends, but many warn her about Daniel’s new boss, Jack West. Jack’s life is surrounded by mystery ever since his second wife and stepson disappeared. Everybody believes Jack is behind the disappearance. When Jack gets in a terrible accident, Mallory decides to find out who has it out for Jack. What Mallory finds on Firefly Island uncovers a political scandal and she must use her experience on Capitol Hill to stop the culprit.

This is another great book by Lisa Wingate. This is a story of a whirlwind romance that will make you smile and you will experience the highs and lows as two people join their lives. This is the third book set on Moses Lake. You can be read this book as a standalone but I recommend reading "Larkspur Cove" and "Blue Moon Bay" first to get the background story on some of the other characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book to review from Bethany House Publishers.
