In “Clouds” by Robin Jones Gunn, we meet Shelly Graham. Shelly is a flight attendant and due to cuts with the airline she has moved back home to the Seattle area. When Shelly returns to her childhood home she starts remembering Jonathan Renfield. She and Jonathan were best friends since they were babies. They were inseparable. Eventually that friendship led to romance. Jonathan’s dream was for them to get married. Shelly on the other hand wanted to see the world. Five years have passed since the night they ended their relationship and now Shelly regrets the decisions she made in the past. When her sister asks her to travel to Germany with her, Shelly jumps at the chance when she finds out that Jonathan will be close by. Shelly hopes Jonathan will forgive her and they can start fresh. What she did not count on was him to announce his engagement to another woman. Once Shelly returns home and she throws herself into her new job and tries to forget about Jonathan. Several months pass and she and her sister once again strike out on a trip. This time they are travelling to Glenbrooke. Once there Shelly’s sisters finds out that Jonathan has ended his relationship and is living in Glenbrooke and decides to play matchmaker. Will Shelly and Jonathan have another chance at love?
This book is a sweet story of unforgotten love and how two people can make their way back to each other as God has planned. This is the fifth books in the Glenbrooke series but it can be read as a standalone. Some characters from the first books do make an appearance; however, so I would recommend reading them in order if you can. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. Click here to visit the author's website.
