In “At Bluebonnet Lake” by Amanda Cabot we meet Kate Sherwood and Greg Vange. Kate is spending a month at the Rainbow’s End Resort in Texas at the request of her ailing grandmother, Sally. Sally stayed at the resort many years before and has always dreamed of going back. Now seems to be the perfect time because she believes Kate is at a crossroad in her life and she feels that time away from New York will help her choose the right path. Kate feels otherwise. She does not want to be spending a month away from her job as she is trying to become partner at her advertising firm. And then Kate meets Greg. Greg is also at a crossroad in his life and has been led to Rainbow’s End. He feels led to purchase the rundown resort and restore it to its former glory. Kate and Greg spend a lot of time together and grow fond of each other in the short time they are together. However, Kate does not believe her future is in Texas and Greg is scared of going out on a limb and purchasing the resort. They must trust in each other and in God in order to chase the rainbow together.
This is a well written story that we can all relate to. We all fear something in our lives and most of us fear being a failure and are too scared to step out of our comfort zone. This book shows us that when we turn to God and follow his path for us He will give us the courage to succeed in whatever we are facing. This is the first book in the Texas Crossroads series and I can’t wait for the next one! I received a complimentary copy of this book to review from Revell.
